Equinox and Marsh Tavern

The luxuriuos Equinox House hotel is part of the Manchester Village Historic District in Manchester, Vermont. It also includes a small group of buildings around the junction of Main Street (Vermont Route 7A) and Union Street. It was developed as a tourist destination in the late 1800s, and placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.

It is reputedly haunted by a number of spirits. Some have claimed that two that have been sighted to be Mary Todd Lincoln (wife of President Abraham Lincoln) and that of her son, Tad. She stayed at the hotel with family on numerous occasions.

Phenomena include reports of furniture shaking, strange lights and shadows moving in your peripheral vision, the sound of a child crying and being comforted by a female, whispering voices, cold spots, feelings of not being alone, and ghosts keeping guests awake.
