Richards-DAR House

The Richards DAR House was constructed in 1860 for Charles Richards, a steamboat captain, and his wife Caroline. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. The four Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) chapters in Mobile jointly operate and maintain the house as a museum.

The house is reputedly haunted by the sounds of young children playing in the upper parts of the house. Their laughing and whispering is reported by stagg members as they lock up the property.

The figure of a woman has been sighted standing in the window that overlooks the grounds.
