Norman and Scott relate the account of the ghost of one Miss Anna C. Peterson appearing to a witness. The full account can be read in Haunted America (see below).

Although little is known about Miss Peterson, the account of Burton Nelson is detailed in that he claims to have seen her apparition, firstly in 1962. Her "misty form" was standing next to his child's crib and patting the child's back. This occurred at approximately 3am, and she seemed to be aware of the witness.

Burton Nelson carried out his own research in an attempt to discover more about Miss Peterson. Unfortunately, public records were scant and he only obtained limited details. Yet, he remained adamant that he had witnessed something that made him a believer in such phenomena.
