Glensheen Mansion sits on 12 acres of waterfront property on Lake Superior. It was constructed as the family home of Chester Adgate Congdon in 1908.
The building is allegedly haunted by Elizabeth Congdon and her nurse, Velma Pietila. They were murdered here in 1977. The house became a museum in 1979. The apparitions of the two women have been reportedly seen in the halls and basement.
Others have reported experiencing feelings of "dread and panic".
