The Night Marchers

The Night Marchers are part of Hawaiian ghost-lore, and feature on a number of the islands, including Moloka'i. Described as being "vague" forms in swirling smoke, and accompanied by a "single, pulsating drumbeat", these supernatural beings could spell mortal danger for anyone who stumbles across them. They would walk on the Night of Kane, which occurs between the 27th and 29th of the month on a new moon.

The authors, Norman and Scott, suggest that they can be encountered at two possible locations. The first is outside Wahiawa, near Interstate H2 and close to Schofield Barracks. The second location is near the beach at Waialee.

For details of encounters with these spirits, we recommend you read the sources below.

However, they are also sighted on the Island of Moloka'i.
