Crybaby Bridge

According to Rich Newman, this bridge is located "on a dirt road just off Lee Boulevard". It is known locally as Sandtown or Crybaby Bridge.

This is another example of haunted bridge with a particular haunting, with some notable variations on the theme. According to the legend, the baby in question was unusually large and deformed, which is why it was thrown from the bridge by its mother.

Consequently, the spirit of the child is angry at its earthly demise, and as such displays aggressive phenomena - such as felling trees, pushing vehicles, and wailing "like a banshee". Other reported effects include light anomalies, mumbling voices and the sound of a crying baby.

There is some speculation that this bridge is located in Maryland, and not Delaware. However, for reference purposes we are leaving it here as that is where the author has credited it as being.
