Gakona Lodge and Trading Post

The Historic Gakona Lodge and trading post is the oldest operating roadhouse in Alaska. It was originally named Doyles Ranch and opened in 1905.

The ghost of a long-since deceased guest is said to haunt this amazing building. Although no visual phenomena have been reported as of the time of writing, witnesses have reported lights being switched on and off, doors opening and closing, movement of objects, heavy footsteps and the sound of someone muttering and voices arguing.

The smell of tabacco has also been reported.
